Our lightweight down jackets for the mountains. 850 fill power hydrophobic goose down in a 93/7 down/feather ratio, delivering our highest warmth-to-weight performance. The 20-denier micro ripstop outer weighs 38g/m². Fenrir has an adjustable hood; Thorsen is the same jacket without one.

Core warmth: Asta gilet

850 fill power hydrophobic goose down at 247g, for mountain layering or everyday wear. Narrower baffles improve warmth and compressibility, and a grown-on collar removes the seam at the neck. Stows in its own pocket.

Daily wear and toughness: Thorne

750 fill power DownTek™ hydrophobic goose down in a 90/10 down/feather ratio, inside a 50-denier Pertex® Quantum micro ripstop outer. That is more than twice the denier of our lighter jackets, built to take daily wear as well as mountain conditions.

Deep cold: Fjorm

Our warmest hydrophobic down jacket, and the closest thing in the range to a goose down coat. 850 fill power goose down with box-wall construction through the body and hood to maximise loft. Helmet-compatible down-filled hood, two-way zip and oversized internal dump pockets.

Hydrophobic down.

Mapped synthetic insulation.

Down loses warmth where it is compressed or where moisture builds: at the cuffs, collar and shoulders. Our jackets use synthetic fill in those areas and keep down where it performs best.

Responsible materials.

Our down complies with the Responsible Down Standard. Outer fabrics include Bureo® NetPlus®, woven from recycled fishing net, and 100% recycled OceanCycle Pertex® Quantum, with PFC-free DWR finishes.

What does fill power mean?

Fill power measures how much space one ounce of down fills, in cubic inches. Higher fill power means more loft and more warmth for the same weight. An 850 fill down jacket is warmer than a 650 fill power jacket of the same weight, or gives the same warmth at a lower weight. Read Fill Power Explained: 600 vs 700 vs 800 vs 850.

Is a goose feather jacket the same as a goose down jacket?

No. Feathers have a quill and give structure; down clusters have no quill and trap far more air, which is where the warmth comes from. The down/feather ratio tells you the mix. Our jackets are 93/7 or 90/10, meaning at least 90% down by weight.

Is a down jacket any good in UK weather?

Untreated down collapses when wet. Hydrophobic down, a DWR outer and synthetic insulation in exposed areas help close that gap. In sustained rain, wear a hardshell over your down jacket. Read Down vs Synthetic Insulation: The Honest Guide.

How do I wash a down jacket?
