Men's Lightweight Down Jacket

A HYDROPHOBIC GOOSE DOWN JACKET FOR COLD CONDITIONS

NEW & REVISED

The new and revised Thorsen is a hoodless, collared version of the Fenrir. A richly featured and highly technical down jacket, Thorsen is designed for further weight saving and for those who prefer no hood. Stuffed with 850 Fill Power goose down, in a premium 93/7 down/feather ratio for an excellent warmth to weight ratio. Our water-repellent down from DownTek™ stays dry 10x longer than untreated down. Unlike inferior versions, our water repellency won’t wash out and is free of harmful fluorocarbons. Our ethical approach to down sourcing complies with the Responsible Down Standard.

A water repellent micro rip-stop face fabric resists moisture, and potential wet-out zones at the cuffs, collar and underarm contain synthetic insulation. The Thorsen also features stretch technical cuffs, an internal valuables pocket, snag-free hem adjusters and is supplied with its own stuff sack for easy carriage.

Another level of quality

My new thorsen arrived today , i chose the orion blue in size medium , I am 5,7 , 72kg, 40” chest, 31” waist (dorito shape if u will) , the medium is ideal a little space for a hoodie incase it is very cold as this is a very warm jacket by no mistake .
I was abit on the fence about the updated design , the taller collar in particular , but i definetly think it is a step forward and not back , as soon as i picked up the jacket and had a look around, the detail is outstanding , ive had my eye on JOTTNAR for a few years and more than happy with this purchase and cannot wait to put it to work. For anyone on the fence , I would stop the hesitation and go for it , you will not regret it .

The perfect down jacket

Really impressed with the quality of this product. I’ve been looking for a decent down jacket that packs small, weighs nothing and keeps me warm for my various adventures in the alps. For its level of warmth and wind protection, it’s tiny and weighs nothing. I can pack it into my bag without thinking about it and it’s there for me when I arrive at camp or go paragliding (windproof is a big bonus). I’m 178cm and weigh 85kg, athletic build, I got the large, it’s not as trim a fit as I expected but that helps with lofting. One point I would make is that the hand pockets only have down on the outside to keep you warm, and you can still feel the cold a bit through the thin fabric on the inside. I run warm but it’s a bit too hot to wear during active use, and is more suited to low activity levels than something like ski touring, etc. All in all, a great jacket and I’m glad I finally got to test out Jöttnars products, will definitely buy from them again!

Thorsen jacket

Nice lightweight jacket, 3 minor points:
Keep finding feathers so losing quite a bit of down
I'd like to see a press stud at the bottom where the zip starts, so can fasten loosely without zipping up
Rather than having a separate bag where there is no real place to keep it, have the jacket fold into one of the pockets like on my montane prism jacket.
