Men's Lightweight Hooded Insulated Jacket

POWERFULLY LIGHT. WEIGHTFULLY WARM.

A brand new lightweight insulated jacket, built for mountain missions where every gramme counts. Thorlak is a remarkably warm, windproof and water-resistant jacket, with a lightweight and packable focus.

For reliable warmth even when wet, we body-mapped synthetic Thermolite® EcoMade insulation and wrapped it in a mechanical stretch, windproof, rip-stop outer, complete with a DWR finish. A powerful and dynamic mix beneath a clean, minimalist aesthetic.

Features include a new barely-there stretch hood band for under-helmet comfort, elasticated hood aperture with front peak, harness-compatible fleece-lined pockets, a secure chest and internal pocket, plus Jöttnar’s anti-snag hem cords, technical stretch cuffs and YKK® zips.

Also available in women's.

Great Lightweight Jacket

I have usually been either a Rab or Arc'teryx kit buyer but being ex military I decided to give the guys at Jõttnar a go. (Yes the 'gucci' adverts work)

I had been looking at the Arc'teryx's Atom SL as I needed a lightweight insulated jacket. (I have had a Atom LT - now just the 'Atom' for years but the quality of some of their new kit has definitely gone south)

I decided on the Thorlak. I initially ordered the small but it was way too small for me so returned it and got the medium which is a perfect slim fit for me. (I'm 173cm 70kg with 40" chest) Morgan at customer service is very helpful.

The first thing you notice is the quality of the product. It is very well made and the materials are top notch. It is also incredibly warm for its weight and thickness. I tested it out on my recent trip to Scotland to do the first leg of the West Highland Way from Milngavie to Drymen. The Thorlak packs down very small and weighs only 340g. It coped well with being used as a travelling jacket from London to Scotland. The pockets are especially spacious and the zips secure. I was worried that a 17kg pack and its straps might mark, stretch or tear the fabric however it coped without and marks or pulls. I used it on the hike to stay warm during breaks which it did well and helped wick the horrendous amount of sweat I produced. This hasn't caused any obvious stains etc. Once hung up to air it looks like new. Overall extremely pleased with this jacket. It's well made, durable, lightweight, strong and has good storage. I think the only thing to watch out for is that the sizing runs a little small and with it being a snug fit jacket you have to choose your size carefully. 5 Stars!

Bad timing, brilliant product...

After dithering about buying this jacket, I eventually did. Unfortunately for me , the day it came, the end of season sale started, so I paid top dollar for it. That being said it was worth the £ 240 all day long. It's super lightweight, amazingly warm with brilliant wind resistance, the shade of green is different too. All in all 100%.
This is the 4th item I have purchased from Jottnar in the last couple of months, and it will not be the last.
I was an advocate for the ' OTHER ' miltary born brand, but have been converted.

Hi Chris - Thanks very much for the 5* review, we really appreciate it! Please send an email to support@jottnar.com along with your order number and we'll process a refund to match the sale price for you.

Brilliant jacket

A brilliant jacket for early Spring and for travelling. It's surprisingly warm for its weight, it's windproof and it shrugs off showers. It also has a good selection of pockets. When the sun comes out, the jacket packs down very small into my rucsac. Another very well-made garment from Jottnar!
