Bought this almost 2 months ago and have reviewed on the basis of wear in a variety of conditions; winter walking in The Lakes, skiing in sub-zero temperatures, wind, rain etc.
As recent reviews of the new Floyen say, the material is durable and certainly warm and windproof. The fit is good, not too loose, not too slim. I am 175cm of average build and the medium fits perfectly. I tend to wear small base and mid layers but my Jottnar jackets are medium. Worn over a base and mid layer and under a shell it provided good insulation in below freezing temperatures in a recent skiing trip to Austria. Uphill exertion in the Lake District left me almost too warm but resting for a period of time with significant wind chill afterwards did not leave me too cold at all. The Floyen is a a more hard wearing and better insulated jacket than my 4 year old Asger but the latter is more breathable and better suited to more aerobic activity whilst still providing warmth when resting. I love both but the Floyen is undoubtedly my favourite and I can thoroughly recommend it. Comfortable hood (lack of a draw cord not an issue for me to be honest) and a good fit around the neck as well as 4 useful pockets.
