Men's Hooded Hybrid Insulated Jacket

THE FLOYEN LINEAGE

The original. The warmest. From our ground-breaking 3-member Floyen family, this jacket is a year-round hooded powerhouse mid-layer or a streamlined outer layer for cold, dry conditions. Synthetic Thermolite® body-mapped insulation retains warmth even when wet, with long lasting loft retention, and wrapped inside a stretch nylon windshell outer. Perfect for climbers and skiers after lightweight, packable, weather-resistant warmth in a versatile jacket.

Breathable Polartec® Wind Pro® stretch side panels enhance fit, comfort and freedom when your exertion rate climbs and can withstand moisture, but reduce wind chill. A Hardface® surface application increases abrasion and snag resistance, water repellency and prolongs the life of the garment.

Micro-suede lined pockets provide hand warmth and are harness compatible, the chest pocket stores essentials, and an under-helmet hood gives extra warmth and protection when needed. Additional features include Jöttnar’s anti-snag hem cords, technical stretch cuffs, YKK® zips throughout and a Durable Water Repellent finish.

Another great jacket by Jottnar

Bought this almost 2 months ago and have reviewed on the basis of wear in a variety of conditions; winter walking in The Lakes, skiing in sub-zero temperatures, wind, rain etc.
As recent reviews of the new Floyen say, the material is durable and certainly warm and windproof. The fit is good, not too loose, not too slim. I am 175cm of average build and the medium fits perfectly. I tend to wear small base and mid layers but my Jottnar jackets are medium. Worn over a base and mid layer and under a shell it provided good insulation in below freezing temperatures in a recent skiing trip to Austria. Uphill exertion in the Lake District left me almost too warm but resting for a period of time with significant wind chill afterwards did not leave me too cold at all. The Floyen is a a more hard wearing and better insulated jacket than my 4 year old Asger but the latter is more breathable and better suited to more aerobic activity whilst still providing warmth when resting. I love both but the Floyen is undoubtedly my favourite and I can thoroughly recommend it. Comfortable hood (lack of a draw cord not an issue for me to be honest) and a good fit around the neck as well as 4 useful pockets.

Great revision of an already great jacket

I’ve been wearing Jottnar for some years now so have quite a few iterations of jackets - this new version of the floyen is naturally a different material, pertex adds more wind/weather resistance but still has 90% of the movement in body and arms as the previous version. I’m 6ft with a 40” chest and the L fits me well when wearing a t shirt or a technical baselayer underneath.

Only annoyance is I bought this just before the discount deals came in! Guess I should have waited but also find it hard to wait 😂

Amazing looking jacket with some excellent features

Love the colour, external pocket and internal pocket. The ripstop fabric is excellent too feels very durable. I replaced my old faithful atom LT with this and have to say I’m very pleased. Only reason for 4 star is I’m not a massive fan of the hood not having a drawcord to adjust the fit. Aside from that, 10/10!

Good sturdy hoody with excellent fit and details

The floyen hoody is a super piece of gear. It feels very sturdy - the pertex fabric fabric feels way more robust than its competitors, allowing it to be an excellent standalone jacket or to be kept as a middle layer. As a standalone I’ve already used it in a wide range of activities in everything from 0 to 15 degrees.
Furthermore, the fit and detailing is just excellent! I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile midlayer.

Fabulous

Light weight however incredibly warm. I’m 6 feet tall 75kg average build and size medium fits beautifully. Lots of useful pockets. Overall very happy with my purchase
