Perfect windstopper and sun blocker

Used for the duration of the Tour du Mont Blanc last year primarily to keep out the wind which would be gusting one minute, but then still the next. This top is so lightweight that you don't need to vent and keep having to put it on and then take it off again. I also used it to stop my arms from getting sunburnt and again its weight meant that you can wear it all day. The front zip allows for some venting if required. A great piece of kit that weighs nothing. Highly recommended

Very light and packable

I use this when rock climbing. It's always in a small stuff sac I made, and clipped to my harness. It's so light and small that I forget about it, but it's always there for belaying at the top of sea cliffs etc, or when the wind gets up generally. I really like the chest zip; it's so much easier to put on in a strong wind, when you don't want to fath about getting a full length zip started. The hood is very good and fits over a helmet. Very comfortable, and wind proof, good arm length and chest pocket for a radio. I really rate it!

Short sleeves spoil a good product

There is much to like about this jacket. It's lightweight, windproof with a good fit. I'm a 43 inch chest and the large jacket is a close fit with enough room underneath for a fleece. Breathability seems to be quite good although I need further testing to confirm my thoughts on this. However I found that the sleeves ride up when bent at the elbow, such as using a trekking pole. This exposes the wrists to the air. The sleeves need to be about 2 inches longer to ensure that the wrists remain covered. Perhaps at 6 foot I should have gone for the extra large? I would also have preferred to have a second chest pocket on the other side of the zip to cater for glasses, a compass, car keys. You can never have too many pockets!

Go Njord!

Super useful and versatile lightweight alternative to Svend when the weather is colder and windier. Wear with Mar, Hamr or Arvind baselayers.

Another great product

Cuts in a little tight under the armpit compared to the old Njord, but still a fantastic product that performs and looks great.
