Men's General Purpose Hard Shell Waterproof Mountain Jacket

HIGH PERFORMANCE TECHNICAL HARD SHELL

Grim is a fully featured hard shell technical mountain jacket built to the same specification as our Odin, but with hand pockets instead of the Odin’s chest pockets.

Grim protects you in the most severe conditions, without sacrificing those features which lend it versatility for all-year use.

Jöttnar SKJOLDR™ windproof, waterproof, breathable fabric provides superb harsh weather protection and durability. Two-way pit zips allow temperature regulation, the helmet compatible hood pattern gives excellent visibility and unimpeded head movement, and the anti-snag hem cords avoid tangling with gear. Wear over a mid layer or base layer as your final protective outer layer for skiing and mountaineering.

Grim hardshell jacket

Great jacket, finish and quality excelllent. Third Jottnar purchase will be getting more.

Solid bit of kit, long arms.

Good, solid jacket. Clearly very well made.

Compared to it's Arcteryx predecessor I prefer the material of the Grim (quieter, softer) and the location of the outer pockets. Not so keen on the lower arm pocket (for ski-lift passess presumably?) which just adds bulk there. Not sure about the hood - which is very large and doesn't cinch down to my head that well. And the arms - they're LONG - I have longer than average arms and this jacket still has excess sleeve on me! Otherwise the small fits perfectly (I'm 5'11'', 75kg)

Grim (Oat)

Already have an Asmund, which is good for spring/autumn but wanted a winter beast for the Scottish winter. Took a large in colour Oat (I am 6' and 75kg) to allow for winter layering. Good fit. Not had out in winter conditions so far. Roll on the Weather.
