Men's Hydrophobic Down Jacket

THE BENCHMARK. OUR WARMEST HYDROPHOBIC DOWN JACKET

Our class-leading hydrophobic goose down jacket. Stuffed with an incredible 275g / 9.7 oz. of 850 Fill Power goose down (size M), in a premium 93/7 down/feather ratio (295g / 10.4 oz. in L, 312g / 11 oz in XL).

Our water-repellent down from DownTek™ stays dry 10x longer than untreated down. Unlike inferior versions, our water repellency won’t wash out and is free of harmful fluorocarbons. Our ethical approach to down sourcing complies with the Responsible Down Standard.

Box wall body construction, fleece cuff liners and oversized zip baffling maximise warmth. A water repellent rip-stop face fabric resists the wet, and potential moisture zones at the cuffs, hem and collar contain synthetic insulation. A belay-friendly two-way zip and helmet compatible hood with mouldable peak add to the Fjörm’s benchmark credentials.

Hopefully worth the wait..

Wanted to buy this last winter but was out of stock,so when I got a notification it was back in stock with a discount I bought it anyway . Weather too warm at the mo so I havnt worn it yet but I will say the fit is excellent. I'm 5ft 11" with a 42" chest and 34" waist and it fits perfect so I'm glad I picked Medium instead of Large. Build quality also looks very good as per the reviews and the fit of the hood is top notch. Not sure how much layering I could get under but I tried it on with a tshirt and fleece and that was fine although if the reviews are anything to go by that will be too hot for mild UK winters such is the insulation in this jacket. Will update this review once I've had a winter with it but first impressions are superb.

The Jottnar Fjorm Jacket is so light, warm and comfortable.
I'm very excited to wear this amazing jacket around the 3 high passes of Everest area.
It will definitely live up to its name

Probably the best hood in the world...

I've owned this more than a year but not had the chance to use it for more than socially distant outdoor coffees and other ambling around. However, it is excellent. It's a big, puffy, full-on mountain jacket. Too warm for most summer alpine and UK use. Perfect for Norway, Canada, Alpine winter; and socially distant coffees in the park! The fit is true to size, I can wear it over a shell and fleece in my standard medium size, although you might consider sizing up if wanting it as a "belay" jacket (over everything else).
There's a number of nice subtle features, even the Jottnar-standard non-looped draw cords are clever thinking. But what I love about this jacket is the hood. All the adjustment you need, big enough to go over a helmet and where the front zip tightens towards your chin, each side forms perfect wind-guards for my cheeks.
As for downsides, I'm not especially a fan of tight elastic cuffs, but I recognise the risk of velcro icing up and becoming useless, flappy lumps of ice. The jacket is warm but, subjectively, not as instantly warm as I'd expect for a quality down jacket of this weight; I put this down to the synthetic/ down mix, which clearly brings its own benefits.
Overall, brilliant, and technically better in at least some respects than jackets from Arcteryx, which would cost double.
