Men's Waterproof Hard Shell Mountain Jacket

Bought in small, I have other jottnar jackets in medium.
I wanted this for spring/milder weather wearing only a T-shirt or base layer underneath.
As with all my jottnar clothing I happy with the fit, quality and performance. I still have lots of arcteryx, but it’s steadily being replaced.Packs down compact for its weight.

I have a few items from jottnar, so was looking forward to my new grim hard shell however on arrival I found the arms to be far too long for me. Strange given other jackets fit well. I have give jacket 3 stars because I am sure it is good but not for me.

Owning a number of other Jottnar items, I've had my eye on a Grim hardshell for some time. I'm very pleased with the fit, material and quality, and expect it to last for many years. A couple of areas that I feel could improve the jacket would be a way of stowing the hood, and a removable snow-skirt for skiing. Otherwise very pleased with the purchase!

Jacket arrived within days of ordering and as is normal with Jottnar, it is a superb product which I have tested in a number of Colombian downpours already with zero leakage. Many have already discussed the long lenth of the sleeves but this ensures that arm movement doesn't allow the jacket to ride up. You only really notice this when you are using it actively in a downpour. Another great jacket from the team!!

Very impressed with the quality of the jacket. It is well designed and is made with a high quality of workmanship. I haven't tested it in Grim conditions yet but wore it on a four day walk up the Northumberland coast. The fabric feels reassuringly robust and the drop hem at the back helps to keep the wind out. The best I can say is that I didn't notice that I was wearing it. The sleeves are rather long but they make a good place to shelter ungloved hands. The velcro wrist straps keep the sleeves comfortably out of the way when tightened. When not being worn, it packs down to a relatively small size to carry in a rucksack. I look forward to testing it in horrid conditions.
