Synthetic reinforcement. 140g/m² synthetic fill at the shoulders, cuffs, collar and hood — a heavier weighting than the Fenrir — gives robust protection in the moisture zones most likely to compromise down performance in sustained cold and wet

Hood. Down-filled and elasticated at the face opening for a close fit without adjustment; the rear cinch locks it in place in wind; functional on the hill and low-profile enough to wear in town

Pockets. Front facing insulation in the hand warmer pockets keep hands warm without gloves; the external chest pocket is a practical addition for a phone, card or keys on the commute or any day out that doesn’t need a pack

OceanCycle. The Pertex® Quantum outer is woven from 100% recycled OceanCycle polyester; like NetPlus® on the Fenrir, this is reclaimed ocean-bound plastic rather than standard recycled material

Jottnar Thorne Jacket

I have a Thorme down jacket and so far I've been really happy with it. Today I got caught out in the rain and was exposed for about 10-15 minutes of persistent but not overly heavy rain. I was a bit surprised to find the pockets getting quite wet and the elbow leaking and getting my arm wet within a few minutes. Now, I know this is not a waterproof jacket but I was expecting a little more resilience from the Pertex Quantum outer fabric. That being said, I am still very happy with the jacket as it performed flawlessly and was so warm and amazing on a recent ski trip with temps falling well below freezing.

Quality jacket

Quality jacket. Warm and windproof without being too bulky. Very comfortable with a good fit and also appears to shed a light shower.

My 2nd Thorne

I’ve bought a few Jottnar jackets now, for myself and family. Just bought my second Thorne for myself. Beautifully fitting, and incredibly comfortable and warm in most conditions. I highly recommend it. Only suggestion for improvement would be a slightly tougher outer material, as my old Thorne didn’t survive our dogs jumping up!

Solid Jacket

Bought a new one of these to replace my very old one and the quality of the new design is a big improvement over previous versions (the old ones were already excellent). Really good fabrics used and feels very robust. I like that the company is a small British company, started and owned by veterans, and is relatively local to me.

Superb Jacket

At 5ft 10ins and 82kg I bought the medium. It’s is a great fit with room for a layer or two, but fits well with just a t-shirt on. Very comfy & warm. The hood is particularly well designed. Stuffs into a very small accompanying stuff sack. Really pleased with this purchase.
