HODR so good I bought a second one

Because there isn't another hardshell jacket on the market to compare to the HODR's performance, fit and durability I had to buy a second one

HODR hardshell jacket.

Bought this jacket in blue at the end of last winter and can honestly say it's the best hardshell jacket I've ever owned. The seams are flawless and fabric is very hard wearing (fantastic when scrambling around rocks etc knowing you don't have e to worry about scuffing/tearing your jacket!)
The fit is great with a little extra room around the shoulders so the seat doesn't ride up when you've got your arms up. Hood fits fantastic with excellent adjustability for any fit with or without a helmet.
Been in some pretty shoddy downpours and so far been dry and well sheltered from the winds....except the one time I forgot my waterproof trousers and ended up with a perfect, soaked through line across my crotch where the rain had been streaming off the bottom of my coat. 10/10 will definately be looking into a full jottnar layer system as the quality of the items i have so far are second to none.

This jacket seemed irresistible because of the pockets. I've been using an venerable Mountain Hardware Goretex jacket for years because it has a vertical left breast pocket just outboard of the zip -- perfect for carrying my ambulance radio, a Motorola brick. That jacket is now disintegrating, so I picked the Hodr because of its rich pocketage: 2x2 breast and sides, and the radio drops in beautifully. I haven't been in a hearty blow with it so far, just some snowfall yesterday and today. But the fabric has a formidable feel, kind of a boardy hand, a tough stoutness. So I'm prepared to be impressed when a gale kicks up. The tailoring seems grand, smartly draped and well finished. Dig the seams! The hybrid elasto-gusset/velcro wrist cuffs are a revelation. Where have those things been all my life? I ordered an XL Hodr because I have wide shoulders buttressed with some geriatric girth in the front, and at that size it's very pleasant to wear, even with pockets stuffed with stuff. Mustard = nice color.
